Page 24 A missionary to New Zealand depicts indigenous Māori community reacting to the stormy sea. The Māori are told it is not a spirit who makes the storms, as they assume, but God in heaven being the clouds. Page 25 is the missionaries further account of a Māori child being born and bathed in the sea before offering their colonising narrative on the savage Māori preferring boys and mothers sometimes putting their girl babies to death.
