How do I know?
1. Sync TR to MC
2. Closed hihat track on both
3. Punch in the even 16ths on both
4. Set favorite shuffle on MC
5. Hit play
6. Tune shuffle on TR until hats in sync
7 Profit!

I always put a bit of shuffle/swing on my tracks.
The MC-707 and TR-8S use different scales for shuffle. On the MC it's -50 to +50 and on the TR it's -128 to 127.
For posterity: +10 on the MC (my favorite shuffle setting) is +50 on the TR.

Syncing a program change from the MC-707 to the TR-8S is more finicky than I'd like to.
TL;DR: The TR-8S needs a bit of lead to switch the program, so if a program change is sent exactly at the start/end of a clip, you hear a little hitch/glitch (missed note/desync).
