Usually Cecil has to change jobs with an HP attack to get access to his other moveset, but EX mode lets him do that as long as he isn't in an attack state.
Which means he can potentially loop Paladin Arts into itself multiple times for some big damage. Yes, we got EX mode only combos.

Getting a bravery break is a large damage increase, so it's very tempting to get it as soon as an opportunity comes up.
But if your bravery is recovering during a combo, it might be better to wait for it to fully recover before going for that sweet +1999 BRV. It adds up!

This is a matchup specific thing, but it's pretty cool; If WoL reflects Lightning's Watera during Bitter End, Watera can push Lightning out of the combo. WoL can salvage this with assist, especially at the ceiling.

Assists are great for defensive insurance. They also work as an interruption tool in neutral. If you know the opponent is going to punish you, you can use that to your advantage.

Here's a funny quirk for saturday. Sephiroth's Fervent Blow is mostly a stream of projectiles, but the sword also has a separate hitbox. Contrary to conventional wisdom, it can cross-up blocks in point-blank range.
That means blocks can stagger if your back is turned to Sephiroth...

Kain has a unique dash cancel that he can do after bravery melee attacks. It may not open up solo combo routes, but Kain can use it to fill assist gauge for a combo with Assist Gauge Up Dash ability. It's the little things. π
