Another example of how the system harms more than helps. After 13 yrs, I canceled my own health insurance. On the rare occasion a medical professional was capable of helping me, their hands were tied by my insurance company to do so.

Came across this gem and read through the comments. He forgot to mention those "peer-to-peer" conversations are often w/a gynecologist or otherwise unqualified doctor employed by the insurance Co to assess necessity. People stay sick for years or die because of this BS.

I'll conclude by stating that after 13+ years, countless specialists & experts, I've no diagnosis. I'm out $30k from my own pocket, and far worse than I was when I began. Due to the pandemic & year-long labor strikes, I couldn't afford insurance. So I stopped seeking care. #USHealthcare

One of a few doctors/experts who canceled me as a patient when I sought the tests they couldn't give me bc insurance wouldn't cover them.
Came back with test results proving their medical expertise was wrong. So they dropped me.
