Finally getting around to playing #DOOMTDA. I’m thinking I might enjoy this one a bit more than Eternal and it’s DLCs. The Ancient Gods parts 1 and 2 were genuinely the most miserable experiences in the franchise, so it can only go up from here.

They add nothing of value. lmao. The time they used to implement that could have been used to realize that a majority of your weapons is useless in normal gameplay. #DoomTDA

The missions are either relatively linear like Eternals or they're open fields. I like those latters a lot because it gives you the feel of conquering a large scale battlefield.. and then you look for secrets and notice you gotta backtrack the entire map and that's when they get annoying. #DoomTDA

Some more words about the other gameplay elements. The Serrat and Mech parts are cool but gameplay wise fall completely flat. They're your average "perfect dodge and attack" affair. With Serrat you even have to make sure to dodge in the right direction, owowowow. But yeah, they're fine. #DoomTDA

Continuing here. Something I really like is how the difficulty can be adjusted. Here I am playing on 150% Speed on Nightmare Difficulty with minimal Parry Window. It is rather intense. However notice how one of Pinky Riders cancels it's own attack for some reason... #DoomTDA

Still, the flow of parrying, shooting and meleeing is pretty fun when you pull it off.

but why would you even wait for a weapon to charge up so they can do max damage if you can just do it instantly with the impaler. Does tons of damage and even more when you pick up ammo from melee plus when you land a headshot, this thing outclasses pretty much everything else in the game. #DoomTDA

Well, no. Guess what, the shield gets an abiilty to instakkill Plasma shields and it's unlockable pretty early in the game, so. Yeah.
And the Cycler, the other plasma ´weapon is better at popping shields anyway. #DoomTDA

Here is the Accelerator and the Ravager. They both already do the same thing, do more dps the longer you fire them.
And you might think that that Accelerator is an Energy Weapon so it's better against shields, right....? #DoomTDA

And about that weapon utility.... notice how in the clip above I only use 2 weapons? A majority of the weapons in TDA feel completely useless and don't do anything other than damage and more damage.
In the end I only used these 4 weapons, and I never bothered using anything else. #DoomTDA

...the lack of ressource management, split-second decisions you gotta make depending on the situation (cause it's all on the shield) and lack of utility tools from the weapons other than the shield all lead to TDA's fights feeling overall a lot less intense than Eternals.. or even 2016's. #DoomTDA
