Gifs on #itch.io are working again! 🥳
(Seizing the moment to do a shameless #selfpromo just because the gif at the top of this #Aliens #fangame page looks so good 😁)

Screenshot of the title screen from "Aliens: Hunted", a fan-made first-person shooter based on the renowned sci-fi horror film series, made using Easy FPS Editor. The game uses mostly pre-existing art assets from various official Aliens games, plus assets from other titles including Blood, Powerslave and Doom 64, as well as other Aliens fan projects, and some sound and music assets from the films. A complete list of assets used is included both in-game and on the game's Itch and GameJolt pages.
Screenshot from fan-made first-person shooter "Aliens: Hunted". The player is currently wielding the shotgun, the sprite being a mash-up of said weapon from 1996's "Alien Trilogy" plus edited versions of the player's arms from the original "Doom", and sourced from Doom editing forums. The environmental textures, plus the remains of defeated xenomorph are also from "Alien Trilogy". The human corpse is an edited sprite from "Blood", and the blue keycard (squint and you'll see it!) is from "Doom 64". Alien blood splatters are simply existing Easy FPS Editor blood decals recoloured to match instances from the "Alien Trilogy" sprites. The numbers on the HUD are original assets, whereas the crosshair and icons are from "Aliens Online".
Screenshot from fan-made first-person shooter "Aliens: Hunted", an interior shot in which the player has just defeated a xenomorph using the pulse rifle, another asset found on Doom editing forums, again a mash-up of Alien Trilogy and edited Doom sprites. The corpse in the background is from Powerslave.
Screenshot from fan-made first-person shooter "Aliens: Hunted". The player is attacking several xenomorph using the flamethrower. Again, the sprites for the weapon itself come from the Doom forums, mashing up the weapon sprites from Alien Trilogy with edited arms from Doom. The flame projectile is an edited sprite from Alien³ for Super Nintendo.

"Wretched Tower" logo. I'm not actually a fan of the title, but it was very much a case of "name the game *something*...!", and under jam conditions I settled on a title that would just "do": the game has a focus on verticality, hence "tower".
Screenshot from "Wretched Tower", in which the player is standing by the first level's exit and looking up to illustrate the design focus of *really tall things*.
Screenshot from "Wretched Tower". The second level features a complex arrangement of stairs plus smaller structures which in theory can be accessed by ascending said stairs then jumping onto their roofs. In practice, ascending too high somehow causes the game to crash, so the key puzzle that was supposed to be present got scrapped in favour of simply running to the base of the one structure with the unlocked gates and stepping on the exit panel within. 😑
Screenshot from "Wretched Tower", taken from the centre of the third level, close to the exit. There are "faces" in the "rock" intentionally throughout the level, and happily it turned out that the central chamber also had faces, albeit accidentally, so I leaned into that to make them more apparent. If I'd had the time to add the combat I'd originally wanted, this would have been where the player fought the end boss.
Day 2 🎃
Surreal and admittedly broken #FPS platform-puzzler and #GameJam entry made in #EasyFPSEditor
(Ran out of time before I could add combat 😬)

Meet the Ranger! Your very own pesky sniper meant to chunk your health while you deal with crowds of his friends. First ranged enemy completed successfully! (I played bad so you could see the sprites dont judge me) #gamedev #easyfpseditor
As of now I have 2 enemies and one completed and functioning with animations and attacks. I'm handling sound later so nothing to listen to right now. Working on the first ranged enemy of the bunch, the Rangers so they can join the ranks with the Foot Soldier and Knight there. #gamedev #easyfpseditor
