A bookplate in the art deco style, in earthy, autumnal colors: golds, beige, earthy greenish brown. A woman in a beautiful light gold off-the-shoulder gown sits with a book open on her lap. Her hair is pulled back into a gentle bun and there are flowers in her hair. There are floral designs and scrollwork behind her. The text "Ex Libris" is written in the scrollwork at the top of the bookplate.
I'm working through a personal library and this person had the most gorgeous art deco bookplates.
There are several variations throughout the collection but I think this one is my favorite.

Grafisches Exlibris von Herzogin Elisabeth Sophie Marie. Ovales Wappen mit springendem Pferd (Welfenross) als Wappentier der Herzöge von Wolfenbüttel, darüber eine Krone als herrschaftliches Symbol. Umlaufende Inschrift mit dem Namen der Fürstin. Gestaltung auf dunkelgrünem Hintergrund.
Nach dem Supralibros bei Herzogin Philippine Charlotte zeigen wir nun ein weiteres Provenienzmerkmal: das Exlibris Elisabeth Sophie Maries.
