These diagrams depict an exploded isometric view of the Xbox Series X console and its controller, developed entirely in Adobe Illustrator using only basic tools—no plugins, no 3D software—just simple geometric rules and isometric projection.
Created through the analysis of publicly available references, including images, teardowns, and technical documentation, they aim to provide a clear visual breakdown of the console’s structure and components.
While not intended as manufacturing blueprints, these illustrations serve as accessible visual tools, making the console’s internal design easier to explore and understand.
All illustrations are developed by GyGinfographics, which specializes in technical illustration, exploded diagrams, and infographics that translate complex engineering concepts into clear and accessible visuals.
Each piece is meticulously crafted using vector-based techniques and isometric projection, ensuring precision and clarity without relying on 3D software.
These diagrams are not intended to be technically precise but to appear as such. Rather than serving as manufacturing blueprints, they are designed as visual tools that clearly identify a device’s components, helping users operate, manipulate, and repair it. The goal is to provide an intuitive reference that simplifies complexity, avoiding the intricacies of technical schematics meant for engineers or specialists, making the information more accessible to a broader audience.
The first version of these graphics was developed in collaboration with and with the support of iFixit.

An exploded isometric view and connection diagram of the Atari 2600, created by GyGinfographics. This detailed vector illustration visually deconstructs the console, showcasing its internal components in an orderly, three-dimensional layout using isometric projection.

The diagram highlights key elements such as the motherboard, cartridge slot, input switches, RF modulator, power supply components, and internal wiring, carefully arranged to illustrate their spatial relationships without distortion. The accompanying connection diagram provides a simplified yet clear representation of how various parts interact electrically, aiding in understanding the system’s functionality.

This artwork was developed entirely in Adobe Illustrator, utilizing only basic tools—no plugins, no 3D software—alongside geometric principles and isometric projection techniques. The goal is not to create a blueprint for manufacturing but rather a highly legible visual tool that allows users to easily identify components, understand their connections, and support restoration or repair efforts.

While the illustration strives for visual accuracy, some components may differ from the originals, especially considering the multiple revisions and hardware updates the Atari 2600 underwent during its production years. The focus is on clarity, making the complex structure of the console more accessible to a wider audience, beyond engineers or specialists.
