( ID: Normalize creators replying to fanon shippers with "that's great that you're inspired to write your own version of things. Keep doing that! But please respect our version of our story." Normalize fans being reminded that boundaries between fandom and creators exist for a reason. Normalize fans recognizing their own creative potential without seeking canon validation. Normalize the idea that fandom is a hobby, not an identity to threaten and fight and harass people over. Normalize a healthy understanding of the boundaries between fiction and reality. Normalize just chilling the fuck out. )

Just a little something I think people living in #fandomspaces need to be reminded of.

Especially, considering how toxic things have become.

( ID: Fandom genuinely went wrong when people started imagining a divide between fandom creators and everyone else. As a fandom creator I am not here to serve you or to "create content" for you, or to make the things that you want to see. I create fandom works for myself, and they are graciously shared with you. If you don't want to enjoy them, that's fine, but you don't get to demand that I make something else. You don't get to show up at my dinner table unexpected and start demanding I cook you the meal you personally want to eat. )

Fandom content is meant to be wholesome and fun - don't be mean to people just trying create.

( ID: i’m going to hold your hands when i say this and i am only going to be kind about it once: ai does not belong in fandom spaces, ever. not in writing, not in art, not in video, not at all. it does not matter how bad you want to see your favourite characters kiss, or how much you need a bit of help finishing a chapter, or whatever. make friends with artists. commission somebody. learn to draw yourself. ask for a beta read. try a writing partnership. fandom spaces are communities, so engage with them! it is about the journey and the fact that we all love something enough to create and build together about that thing. spending 30 seconds to kill a tree and get an AI to push out some soulless empty piece of “content” is antithetical to the entire point of being engaged with fandom, and if you’ve taken to doing this you should really reconsider if you belong in these spaces with the rest of us. )

That shit is destroying the planet and your creative skills.
Stop fucking using ai.

It doesn't belong in fandom spaces and it sure af doesn't belong anywhere.

Hot take: if you make an alternate version of a character, that does not mean you own the character. That character in a whole and all versions of them still belong to the original creator. I might get hate for this…
