Started at 5am (my sleep sucks), finished at the back of 8pm. My Scottish blue bonnet is done! (no pattern to share as I made it up as I went along). Just needs a wee pom-pom and it's all set 😄

FLOOF! Today I combed some corriedale into top during the Ply guild call. IT'S SO PRETTY. I made 4 of these fiber nests this afternoon. I'm going to comb as much of this fleece as possible, and then maybe hand card some rolags. #fiberprep #handspinning #yarn #corriedale #BAMfiberworks #spinsky 🧶

New spin on the #EEW6.1 with some very compacted BFL fiber that I was gifted. Ran it all through the drum carder to blend the colors and stripped it down to roving. Trying out a supported "long" draw. It's ok? Don't love the color, but it's good for practice. 🧶 #handspinning #fiberprep #fiberart

My Clemes&Clemes order arrived today! A flicker brush and Wensleydale fleece for the Ply spinning guild fiber study. "Imperfect" because there's more VM than usual, but it will clean up with a Lock Pop. It fit my budget, and I've seen worse VM. #fiberart #plyspinningguild #handspinning #fiberprep 🧶

Took the day off today. I've been popping corriedale locks for a few days now, so I processed a selection to try out. 5" locks combed, 4" locks carded to a semi worsted batt. Think I'll comb the rest of the 4" and only card the 3" lengths. #handspinning #fiberprep #handspinning 🧶 #fleece

The fleece is mostly dry, so I'm picking out locks for combing. And finding many more second cuts. Not short cuts that I can card. Its pieces half inch or shorter. 6oz total of second cuts so far, and I'm barely through 1# of this 8# corriedale. 1/2 🧶 #fiberprep #handspinning #fleece

Vintage knitting needle set (Aero) made in England between 1970-1980. Personally I think they were definitely made around 1970. Uses a much older system of needle size. Tried some them out - so far so good! 😀

Fleece washing today! The Power Scour and Fibre Rinse is working much better than the free & clear detergent that I tried on my first fleece. It was a good investment. Trying to get as much of this 8# fleece washed today as possible. #handspinning #fiberprep #wool 🧶

This batt was made with 10%each of white English Leicester and white Border Leicester X Corriedale and 80%dark grey Corriedale. It still spun up wiry! But those Leicester breeds make a durable yarn. 3 plied and still soft enough to knit a next to skin garment. #handspinner #handspunyarn #fiberprep

I’m working on scouring a 7 lb Dorset fleece, little by little. My tap water is 110°F but evidently wasn’t hot enough. The first batch felt ok, although it still looked yellow, but hand carding made dirty gray-yellow rolags that felt greasy.
