Microscope image of a Tektronix THM565 main circuit board. On the right is a Sony (now Renesas) 1179 analog-to-digital converter. There are traces leading from the ADC to several white surface mount capacitors, and to a ribbon cable on the left side. The copper trace between one of the capacitors and ribbon cable has been doubled by a tiny wire soldered on the capacitor and the pin of the ribbon cable.
Fun troubleshooting a dead channel on an old Tektronix handheld oscilloscope. The trace leading from the Sony ADC on the right to the ribbon cable is broken at the cable's pad. Fortunately, a convenient SMD capacitor provided an easy place to add a bodge wire.

1960s vintage Aiwa reel-to-reel tape recorder. It is made in classic 1960s beige tones. There is a full tape reel on the left side and an empty reel on the right. The included Aiwa mic is plugged in. The mic is made of metal and is quite heavy for its diminutive size.
Aiwa TP-713 5" reel-to reel re-belted and mostly working. Made before 1967 and JIS as all heck.
Make sure to use #JIS screwdrivers on stuff made in Japan, kids. Typical Philips drivers will hopelessly mangle the heads.

Fixed my 23-year-old "shufflin'-around-outside" flip-flops for the fourth time. It's about time for me to cut a new tread pattern into them.
They cost probably $5 in 2003 and by God I'm going to try to make them outlast me.

The solder side of a long narrow PC board. It is in three pieces, glued together first with cyanoacrylate and then reinforced with epoxy and fiberglass mesh. Several tiny wires are soldered to it, connecting pads and traces that had been severed when the board broke.
A Korg DTR-2 tuner. Single sided pcb broken in three pieces with traces gone. Easily the finest (in scale, not quality) soldering work I've done. Thank goodness for cheapish microscopes with big screens; my eyes are crap now. 😫
Final inspection and test after sleep.
