Tier 6 was created to appease NY's billionaires and the elites, and educators and other vital workers paid the price.

When @uft.org President Michael Mulgrew began as a teacher, Tier 4 was considered a “bad tier.”
But teachers in previous tiers stood with him & other tier 4 members until it was fixed.
It’s time to do the same with Tier 6. #FixTier6

I was so glad to see so many unions there. NYSUT, PEF, UUP, UFT, and so many local unions. And we weren't alone. Firefighters, nurses, public and private works, Tom DiNapoli, Tish James, and Kathy Hochul all showed their support. #FixTier6
If you devote your life to educating the next generation you should be able to retire with dignity and grace. That's why the pension is a promise, but New York broke that promise with Tier 6. This comes down to basic fairness. #FixTier6
