SlenderWolf Conflicts and Alliances
Chapter 38
The Shorb
“The one that was destroyed in the Waterloo fire was the second one, the working prototype. The first one still exists somewhere, although it has no electrical fittings. But it is made of Sherringer Multiversal Glass. I wish we could find it. Or what remains of it!”
Stridently, HayWire proclaims, “we should find it! And study it! Solar power without silicon or boron or phosphorous! Glass is a liquid you know, you can apply fluid dynamics to it. Maybe we can recreate Sherringer Multiversal Glass by using other materials?”
“Nice idea HayWire, just one problem though. The sun doesn’t shine at night which is when most people want electricity. We don’t have any storage capacity, so we can’t hold electricity until it’s needed. We need batteries first. And that’s why Wolfie Windy Water never tried to develop solar power.”
“And anyway,” says NutJob, “then you’d have to call it Sunny Windy Water!”
A watercolour painting of a 60 year old man with receding grey hair and frameless glasses. He is wearing a white lab coat over a light blue shirt, and has a dark navy tie. He looks like the archetypal scientist. He has a serious look on his face and he likes to point out “My name’s Emmett. But everybody calls me Barmy! Barmy as in proper noun, not as in adjective! Though some might disagree!” - The image is labelled BarmyWaffle.
A watercolour painting of an 18 year old young man - he has fly away blonde hair and blue eyes - in this relaxed pose he has a thoughtful and neutral expression - he is wearing a white T shirt - the image is labelled HayWire
