The nearest access point to Hamnet is only 1.6 km away as measured in a straight line, but i am on the second floor with many houses in between, so I am unable to establish a radio connection.
I connected to Hamnet via VPN and browsed around a bit. The web part seems a bit like the early [โฆ]
I tried some repeaters on Echolink in the last days, but didnt have luck to get someone. Today I called CQ via Echolink and had a nice QSO with Harry G0LHX from England. Well we talked about the weather and exchanged late seasons greetings :) anyway... the challengs is not solved yet. hc01 [โฆ]
last year I ditched the #hamchallenge from my list of things at some time, because of health problems. I am happy there is a @hamchallenge in 2026 again. Lets see how far I get this year ๐ป
I might be the last person to do so, but today I tried FT8 for the first time. Made a few successful QSOs on 17m and 30m, the one with KA9FOX was a real DX-success for me (with 5W and and Inverted Vee on the balcony) #hamchallenge HC31S @hamchallenge
@hamchallenge And since @df5go is a participant in the #hamchallenge as well, this also counts as HC30S
And yesterday, I completed another @hamchallenge:
I made my very first contact in morse code. It was over a very short distance and we agreed on the contents of the QSO beforehand, but I managed to understand what @df5go sent and successfully sent my own callsign and report. So HC38S

Like @hamradio2dot0.bsky.social has done, I am issuing a challenge! This stemmed from a livestream about 2 meters!!
Key up on 2m Simplex daily & more! Tell your ham friends, tell your clubs, let's get 2m active again!

Taking advantage of the mild weather tonight and trying to listen to foreign broadcast stations for #hamchallenge week 32 and just found Voice of Korea broadcasting from Northern Korea in English! Definitely HC32S!

@hamchallenge Apparently this was also an ahead-of-schedule #HamChallenge #HC33S
I built a six-band linked dipole with links for 10m, 12m, 15m, 17m, 20m, 30m, and 40m meant for inverted-V deployment, to be an efficient, mostly isotropic radiator with high Q on one band (at a time). I want to be [โฆ]
My hand ist holding a Baofeng UV-5R with two little spoons attached to it as an antenna.
It took me a while to come up with an idea for the "unusual antenna" #hamchallenge but after some experimenting, let me introduce you to the "Di-Spoon"! I had a successful QSO with @df5go on 70cm over 500m to our local parc, so HC12S! More tests to follow.

@hamchallenge Looking over the listing shows HC28 to be of interest (working 6m ES-skip is always fun). Issue is that my indoor mag loop does not cover 6m (only up to 10m).

@hamchallenge HC18S Make a contact in digital voice mode. Completed a digital voice QSO on 8-May-2025 with Jim, WB8HMD on DMR digital via the K9VI Crystal Lake, IL repeater. Used TriStateDMR Talk Group 4649 (network) and TG 8 (local RF, TS1 CC04).

@hamchallenge HC17S What VHF/UHF repeater is closest to your location (and how did you determine this)?
Using RepeaterBook App on iPad with GPS enabled yielded my location in the title bar, then searched for closest repeaters of any type to meet this challenge.

Map of Berlin with green points indicating FM amateur radio repeaters. One in the middle is labelled DB0BLX
I used https://repeatermap.de/ to check for FM repeaters close to where I live and found that since the beginning of the year, there is DB0BLX in the middle of Berlin. Can't try using it since I'm not at home currently but will try when I'm back.

So the @hamchallenge @hamchallenge this week is to make a xOTA contact. Got my first SOTA contact earlier this week on 20m, and a few 40m POTA contacts for the first time.
Considering the conditions I'll take 3 contacts as a win!

An image of a space suit with the title 'Humans in space' and the subtitle 'SuitSat-1 20th Anniversary' in English and Russian. The image is not completely clear, there are green lines due to noise
I managed to receive one of the images sent by the ISS today, using my little Baofeng UV-5R and the Robo36 app on my phone. The image is not perfect due to noise but I'm still really happy it worked.
Counting this as #hamchallenge HC42S and HC10S ๐
