A budget crisis cannot be solved through layoffs of librarians and non-reappointments of teaching faculty who together serve our students, patients, and communities and make our university run for us all. Raising class sizes, eliminating library services, or cutting student programs will only hurt the people who rely on us, now more than ever. Sacrificing the quality of UC education while administrative bloat is left unaddressed would be a failure of leadership.
