Many fans still hope for a Season 2, but the reality is that the story ended with its creator. Daisuke Satō tragically passed away in 2017 at the age of 52 due to heart disease. The series’ editor, Kawanakajima, and the illustrator, Shōji Satō, eventually addressed why no one will ever finish the manga. Their decision comes down to a deep respect for the original author’s unique voice. The Editor's Statement: "Realistically speaking, there is nobody in the world who could inherit Daisuke Satō's vision... he was the one and only. I'd like overseas fans to understand that nobody else could write it easily." The illustrator added that it "pains his heart" to leave it unfinished, but he believes continuing without Daisuke Satō would be wrong. For the team, the story began and ended with him.
