The #HouseOfLords needs professionals with extensive frontline experience (retired teachers, nurses, doctors, etc), who understand societal struggles first-hand through years of dedicated public service. End life peerages for cronies, lobbyists & loyalists. Prioritize merit over political patronage.
Good! Now add: Voters to also nominate candidates. A cross-party panel should vet HoL nominees via public interviews; appointment requires a majority vote. Mandate annual health checks at 71+ and 8-year reviews of conduct and attendance. Poor performance warrants expulsion. #HouseOfLords
