Kagamine Len and Rin Are the Next Desktop Mate Characters Following the 19th birthday of Vocaloid characters Kagamine Len and Rin, the twins will join _Desktop Mate_ as DLC. Each of them currently have a January 2026 release window, though there’s no exact release date for either one’s release. However, the product pages for Len and Rin and live for wishlisting now. Each one will cost ¥2,200 after launch, which means they should cost around $14.99 each. There’s no word about a bundle with the two together. Crypton Future Media made the 3D models for both the Kagamine Len and Rin DLC packs. Infiniteloop worked on the animations. If someone owns the add-ons for both characters, they can be linked together for combination animations. Some of the examples included both appearing when an alarm goes off, rather than just one, or them reacting to the other’s animations and behaviors. Desktop Mate Gets Touhou Reimu DLC Ahead of VOCALOMAKETS More _Desktop Mate_ DLC is here and coming, with the immediately available items being two versions of Reimu from the _Touhou Project_ series and the upcoming ones being two VOCALOMAKETS Vocaloids. The $14.99 Hakurei Reimu and $7.49 Yukkuri Reimu add-ons are live now, and Kizuna Akari and Yuzuki Yukari will launch on December 9, 2025. In the case of the _Touhou Project Desktop Mate_ additions, both DLC feature versions of the same character. They can be purchased alone or in a $20.23 bundle together. Yukkuri Reimu is less expensive due to, well, her being just a head. That includes Nonoko’s design and a new 3D model. The Hakurei Reimu option is more detailed, both due to the fact that she includes new voiced lines by Sumire Uesaka and actions that involve her shrine maiden duties. It also features a custom wallpaper inspired by the series from Nonoko. Next Desktop Mate DLC Features Needy Streamer Overload Characters Infiniteloop announced the next crossover DLC characters for the _Desktop Mate_ app that adds a companion to your desktop, and they will be OMGkawaiiAngel and Ame-chan from _Needy Streamer Overload_. Both will debut on November 11, 2025. Prices aren’t noted yet, but previous Hatsune Miku and _NieR: Automata_ones cost $14.99 each. There will also be an option to get both in a bundle, with the option to swap between the two characters with a special transformation if someone owns both. In _Needy Streamer Overload_ , Ame-chan is the main character and OMGkawaiiAngel is her streamer identity that we help manage, and the two are treated as separate characters for the _Desktop Mate_ DLC. Through the course of the game, our scheduling can affect the endings for the character. The Ame-chan one will apparently be more subdued and feature her playing around on her phone. The OMGkawaiiAngel option will essentially be performing on your desktop, including doing the _Para Para_ dance. A magical girl/_Sailor Moon_ transformation sequence will play if you own both, allowing you to see Ame-chan transform into her alter ego. 2B Can Become Your Desktop Mate With New NieR: Automata DLC Infinite Loop announced that 2B from _NieR: Automata_ is the next crossover character to come to its virtual pet/companion program _Desktop Mate_ as DLC. She will show up on October 9, 2025. A price wasn’t mentioned, but all past add-ons for the application cost $14.99 each. Details about what to expect from the 2B DLC are available. She will wear her trademark dress, but it will be possible to “perform an action” that offers her alternate look. (This is likely the appearance without the skirt.) Screenshots showed her with and without her eyes covered too. English and Japanese voiced lines will be available as language options, and Kira Buckland and Yui Ishikawa are confirmed to be the performers again.
