Naively assumed that with the #InternetNZ election over, we wouldn't be hearing from the spaceman again. But I haven't been back there for long; perhaps he's been invested in spamming them with the same opinion over and over for longer than I realise…
#InternetNZ has just opened a round of consultation on some proposed .nz rule changes, if that sort of thing is of interest.
You can find out more here:

So #InternetNZ peeps. Are we all dialling into the Council Meeting to keep an eye on our 'ole mate Jonathan ? Because I am.
That is the beauty of InternetNZ. Members can observe all their hui in the act of transparency. If the hui requires alone time, they switch to another Zoom link for that part.
#InternetNZ is responsible for managing the 750,000 websites with a .nz domain name, & it’s at risk.
RW #DirtyPolitics’player #DavidFarrar suggested #FSU push membership to enable anti-Māori racism. It’s $21 to join, to help stop this censorship #nzpol

Thank goodness @dylanreeve.com - w/ experience, intellect, & a critical gaze - is on #InternetNZ board now, esp. as FSU will not stop efforts to undermine mahi. | Free Speech Union’s bid to reshape InternetNZ: The results are in, with a late twist – Tech Insider www.nzherald.co.nz/business/fre...

I fed the #internetnz #agm2025 into a free range open source local LLM and it made this song. #nzpol
Mentally weighting the odds that Ayling isn't going to be able to stop himself from writing public-facing op-eds decrying stuff #internetnz is doing, and how that would run face-first into the fact INZ kept the provisions that mean they can remove people for bringing it into disrepute.
Great thoughts on how the #internetnz election played out
So FSU got one board member into #InternetNZ (following their big membership flood) but the rest of us got Dylan Reeve which is nice, and every member motion was "not carried" (2/3 majority needed).
12 of those 15 motions were moved by team FSU.
Membership has gone from 400 -> 4000 in 2025.
Did I want to spend over 3 hours tonight on a Zoom call to prevent #InternetNZ being taken over by FSU? Fuck no.
Am I glad I did? Hell yeah.
Huge props to the folks in the Slack, the jokes and GIFs at least made it bearable 😅
Catching up on the #InternetNZ agm skeet’s give me big Covid era watch party vibes.
And I feel like I missed out because I was the entertainment!
Keep this engagement. Learn from it, take the collective and unified spirit forward to your next battles!
For some reason the clunkiness of the #Internetnz voting experience reminds me of this...
People with strong stomachs may be interested in this Survey from #InternetNZ of membership views.
CW: some of those views are nasty and don't support a more inclusive Aotearoa.

So you're saying you need more of aonz bluesky to join #internetNZ for next time?
I can't promise I'll remember to turn up to an AGM but i can join and do a pre meeting board vote to keep the Atlas stooges out
BREAKING: FSU statement…
Everybody exercised their freeze peach. We lost. Democracy won. We wasted our people’s time and we are sorry.

Absolutely hilarious coming on here and scrolling through all the #internetnz drama, in reverse.
For all the #InternetNZ members keeping the wrb funky for all!
Can I sleep now???? #internetnz
Dubious votes lost. New #InternetNZ Council members = Jonathan Ayling of FSU NZ and Dylan Reeve.
I assume the free speech onion will try adding a director to #InternetNZ again next year. So I hope someone comes up with a good strategy to stop them next year.
Motions put up to delete honouring Te Tiriti were chucked out but enough of the FSU NZ supporters got their way to get their CEO onto the #InternetNZ Council.
One voice for FSU NZ views.
I hope they can find common ground like supporting access of under 16YOs to online platforms.

I’m quite keen to run for the board of InternetNZ myself, with a platform of:
“Actually don’t vote for me. Vote for anyone from a marginalised group instead.”

Sending this out as a giant thank you to all of you who showed up to keep the monsters at bay for #internetNZ
