When auto-complete hits official communications from the Sheriff’s Office…

A mobile app displays the address of Denver International Airport, a small preview of that location from Google Maps, and a prominent “Driving Directions” button. An iOS system menu appears at the bottom of the screen, showing options for Apple Maps, Google Maps, and for copying the address to the clipboard. A Cancel menu item is also available.
Apps that offer directions often send their users to Google Maps for navigation.
As someone who prefers Apple Maps, I find that annoying. Especially since the user-friendlier solution is so simple: just offer a menu with relevant options, as seen in this mobile app by Enterprise.

But design will need to focus on tweaking model interactions so that they track conversational content and turns over time. For example with bi-directional prompting: models prompt users to keep conversations on track.

The shift from "task automation" to "capability augmentation" vis-a-vis #GenAI has great implications for design - org design, product design, #UX, #IxD, #LLM design. Because it becomes about information > knowledge > choices > recommendations > decisions > communication.

I really think #LLM reasoning is #UX and even #IxD if it's used to prompt the user w questions etc.
In a chat agent, it's "inner thoughts." ...
Just worked through this truly solid framework of #LLMs and Generative AI in decision-making, decision support, and organizational change generally.
Curiously though not a single observation of interaction design and LLMs. #LLM use/utility must consider #AI #UX and #IxD.
