This postcard shows an Air Canada Boeing 747-100 in flight above a solid layer of white clouds. The aircraft is viewed from the left side against a blue sky. The fuselage is white with “AIR CANADA” in large red block letters along the forward section. The tail is black with a red maple leaf emblem. Four engines are mounted under the swept wings. The hump of the upper deck identifies it as an early 747 variant. The aircraft appears clean and unweathered, presented in cruise configuration with landing gear retracted.

The image shows a Trans World Airlines (TWA) wide-body jet airliner, specifically a Boeing 747SP, in flight against a dark background that appears to be land or sea far below. The aircraft features TWA’s classic red-and-white livery: a white fuselage with a thick red cheatline bordered by thin stripes, the words TRANS WORLD in red block lettering on the forward fuselage, and a tall red vertical stabilizer with TWA in bold white letters. The 747SP’s shortened fuselage and distinctive single-deck hump ahead of the wing are clearly visible. All four engines are mounted beneath the wings. The registration number is visible near the tail section. The lighting suggests a daylight image with even illumination across the aircraft.

The image shows a Swissair wide-body jet airliner, a Boeing 747, captured during its initial climb after takeoff. The aircraft is painted in the classic Swissair livery: a white fuselage with a red cheatline containing a thin gold accent, the name SWISSAIR in dark lettering on the forward fuselage, and a red vertical stabilizer displaying a white cross, the Swiss national symbol. All four engines are visible under the wings, and the main landing gear remains fully extended. The nose landing gear is also deployed. The sky above is clear and blue, and the terrain below includes tree-covered hills at the edge of the frame. The aircraft registration is visible on the tail. The photograph appears to be taken from a low angle, emphasizing the underside structure, engine nacelles, landing gear assemblies, and wing sweep.

Was wonderful to get to see and photograph Lufthansa's B747 yesterday as it approached Haneda Airport. The Queen of the Skies is such a rare sight now. One day soon I need to sort a trip so I can go on this one.

The Inside Story of Trump’s Search for a New Air Force One

(3/4) #DonaldTrump #Qatar #JumboJet #Corruption

NYT: “And even if the plane is donated, the cost of those retrofits would be enormous, according to current and former Pentagon officials: at least $1 billion.”

The NYT estimated it cost about $1m to have the jet fly to Florida so felon34 could check it out last February.

Wait till you see the estimated cost to have the jet retrofitted. A jet that will eventually end up at felon34's library.

I missed this article from the NYT about felon34's jumbo jet bribe from the Qatari government.

It questions how a plan to buy a *temporary* Air Force One substitute, government to government, changed to getting a jumbo jet gratis from the Qataris.

Modern day “White Elephant” -Qatar made a $400M “white jumbo jet” to Trump.😂 This gift is analogous to the “white elephants” gift from a legend of the King of Siam -who gave albino elephants to those he disliked, knowing it’d be very expensive and a burden to maintain them. #JumboJet #WhiteElephant

Turning Qatari 747 into Air Force One could cost $1 billion and take years, experts say Taxpayers would likely foot the bill to retrofit President Trump's new jet, which could be more than twice the plane's $400 million value.

NBC News: “Converting a Qatari-owned 747 jet into a new Air Force One for President Donald Trump would involve installing multiple top-secret systems, cost over $1 billion and take years to complete, three aviation experts told NBC News.”
