Photo of a purple lace knitting project in process. Text below says โknitting lace is such an act of faith. You take a single strand of yarn, nearly a half mile long, and with a couple of skinny sticks, you knit and purl and slip and wrap and yarn over and knit together and make one left and right thousands and thousands of times, all the time hoping you have enough to finishโฆ And you end up with a crumpled mess. Then you start pinning and stretching and blocking to force that yarn into submission, into something that looks beautiful and intricate and delicate, when itโs really based on strength. And it all starts with one really long piece of stringโฆ And a lot of faith.โ

Hereโs a post I made about #LaceKnitting several years ago that I thought appropriate this weekโs #ShowMeYourKnits prompt and the shawl that inspired it. ๐งถ
