Y'all, I accidentally pushed the Instagram button on my tablet the other night. And I was reminded why I deserted Meta. I was served addictive reel after real, keeping me up half the night. But I didn't see a single reel from someone I actually know. Felt soulless.

Lunar New Year lanterns plus a cream bun plus text: January 26, 2025, The freeze warning drove us inside for our Sunday morning walk. Of course it wasn’t dangerous-with proper layers it would have only been less comfortable. Also walking inside means coffee and rolls at Eataly and being able to see the hundreds of red fabric lamps decorating the inside of Valley Fair. Lunar New Year festivities are in full swing. I spent part of my afternoon downloading my content from Meta so I could delete it once and for all. I used to share a ton of articles I found useful or funny. I forgot about many of the sites that were go to’s. Many of the things I expressed--anxieties about the right and climate change-- came true. Very depressing. Knowing is never enough.

How many of you are #LeavingMeta? #CancelingPrime? Etc? What are you using in place of these services? All my Meta accounts get deleted Sunday. My prime is up in May, #audible and #AmazonMusic are already gone.
