Rules pasted into the book read Bo'ness Public Library Crest reads SINE METU (without fear) The Library and Reading Room shall be open every day (except Sundays and such Holidays as shall be in-timated) as follows: The Reading Room from 9 am. till 1 p.m., 3-30 pm till 7 p.m.: Thursdays, 9 a.m. till 1 p.m, only; The Library 11 a.m. till 1 p.m., 3-30 p.m. till 7 p.m.; Thursdays, (Ball Holiday) 11 a.m, till 1 p.m. only. The Committee reserve power to decline to issue a Reader's Ticket. and to suspend any Ticket whenever the Committee see sufficient reasons for so doing. The occurence of infectious disease in the Reader's house cancels the Reader's privelege for the time being. Reader's Tickets are not transferable, and books may not be lent by a Reader to anyone. Readers are cautioned against losing their Tickets, as they and their Guarantors will be held responsible for all books taken out with the same. A charge of Twopence will be made for replacing a lost Ticket. Readers shall be liable to a fine of One Penny for every day books are kept beyond the time named be delivered to or on the label. It is desirable that books should returned by the borrower personally. The Librarian has instructions to refuse books to messengers whom he may consider not qualified to take proper care of them. Readers will be held responsible for any damage which books may have sustained while in their possession, and they are recommended to examine their books before leaving the Library and point out any defect they may discover to the Librarian. Writing or drawing on any part of book with pen or pencil, or doubling down the leaves, will be treated serious damage. The Librarian shall have power to suspend, for such length of time she may see fit, the use of the Ticket of any Reader refusing or neglecting to comply with any of the Rules. Any party aggrieved by the Librarian action in this respect, however, shall have a right of appeal to the Library Committee.
