Frage an die #Linux Profis: Ich liebe es, mit der Pfeil-hoch-Taste meine letzten Terminal-Befehle durchzugehen. Aber manchmal liegt der Gewünschte lange zurück. Kann ich so eine Historie auch nur für ein Programm durchklicken, also zum Beispiel die letzten Befehle mit ffmpeg?

Okay dumb Linux question. I did try to get hibernate working on my Linux notebook.
Therefor I added a resume statement to the LINUX_DEFAULT config for GRUB. Also I added the resume statement to the Kernel parameters and recreated both configs.

The scene switches as our Being is now next to table on which sits a laptop. Our Being gestures with their thumb and says, "No, not those. The PC one." Next they launch into a list of things that Windows struggles with: Bad update scheduling, adding ads in the Start menu, and loads of subjective annoyances. 3. Scene shifting again, our Being now speaks from the corner of the panel. They say, "All that bad Windows stuff, but I hear there's a pengui-" They're cut off as the room grows darker and colder. Fear sets in across their face as they say, "He's right behind me... Isn't he..." 4. Our last panel and our Being is now in a hole with a trap door that they are currently in the process of closing. Before the door is shut, they address the viewer one more time and say, "Anyways, this is all to say if I come out of the Linux hole a bigger tech nerd, I'm sorry. lol" The door shuts.

Now we get to see which works best for my church needs with dueling old iMacs, one running MacOs and the other Ubuntu. I’m going to try living with both for awhile and, honestly, likely migrate over to the Ubuntu machine.

After four and a half hours and various roadblocks (including learning how to use the Terminal in ways I’d never before), I finally got a bootable USB drive for Ubuntu to work on this old-ass Mac and [insert gif of Orson Krennic saying “oh, it’s beautiful!”]

I was banging my head on my desk wondering why my new smb share wasn't working. The .conf file was right?! My router says I was on /.16 - then, out of dumb luck, I ran ifconfig and sure enough, I'm on /.15 plugged in the new IP and boom, I'm in. I learned to trust my PC over Knighthawk. #linuxnoob
too me a whole morning to fix it, mainly trying to figure out how to make an efi partition that was recognized (had to update ID in the fstab file to the new partition's ID). Once I figured that out, the usual guide to restore my bootloader finally worked lol.

Actually did something dumb yesterday. I deleted my boot manager during a moment of being mindlessly tinkering in my partition manager. I guess that wish to do something dumb got fulfilled lol.

Daran gescheitert das Synology NAS einzubinden...
Externe Festplatte kann nicht gemounted werden...
Das kann noch lustig werden. 🥲
