After too long away, I'm finally diving back into another #Loeb Classic. Last year I found Pausanias, world's first travel blogger. Through him, we can reconstruct a real sense of what 2nd C AD Greece looked & felt like. A priceless recorder of so much that's now gone. Now on to Volume II!

Next #Loeb is Claudius Aelianus, better known as Aelian. An early 3rd C AD Greek living in Rome who wrote little digests of fun factoids, much like Aulus Gellius did in the 2nd C. He fills a 3rd C literary void, and his books are the sole surviving references for a lot of earlier writers!
