Some of the "crop" on the family farm. These #longleaf replaced a dense loblolly stand. When old enough to harvest, I will thin them back to a natural density and begin to plant #wiregrass and other native groundcover.

I often mention the family "farm." It's not really a farm, but a landscape that I am working to restore longleaf-wiregrass. This stand (originally a dense loblolly plantation) has been thinned, #wiregrass planted in about half of it, and young #longleaf planted to slowly replace the mature loblolly.
