A pleasing Victorian pub front, of a single bay and three storeys (the top one possibly an attic space). The door is on the right, with windows to the left. The words 'THE BEE-HIVE INN' are set into tiles beneath the windows, and 'GREENALL WHITLEY & CO.' in a plaque beneath windows on the top floor. The hanging pub sign has been painted over with a 'Coulby Conduct' estate agents logo, and a modern sign above the ground floor windows also reads 'Coulby Conduct'. There are photos of properties for sale on a display in the widows.
The former Bee-Hive, on #Northwich High Street. 'The Waterloo' was opened here in 1816, but fell victim to salt mining subsidence (a common problem locally) and was demolished in 1891. This handsome replacement was built soon after, but closed in 2013. #PubFrontFriday #LostPubs #Cheshire
