Another one of West Quoddy Head this one using the full range of my inks- iron acorn, acorn, and walnut. Loads of layers on this one and I like what the iron acorn does in the sky really digging the walnut ink and its color. #makeink #mixedmedia

Freedom. All locally foraged: walnut ink and paint made of ochres, clays, marine exoskeletons.

A new passion for me last year. Learning to #makeink. This is all the same ink. Made from buckthorn berries. The color changes from blue to yellow as the alkalinity of the ink increases. I wish I’d stopped at that beautiful green. There’s always next years crop.

Also here’s the yellow ink which was its own separate process #makeink

Postgame analysis: Probably should have ground the charcoal with a pestle (I don’t own one) instead of a food grinder cause I ended up with shards instead of dust which has made my ink a little grainy. But this was not a bad first experiment! #makeink
