Ahead of #MindYourHead week I was pleased to host an event in Parliament highlighting mental health in farming. Farmers face long hours, isolation & rising pressures. Progress is being made but suicide prevention still lags. I'll keep pushing for greater awareness & support.

Today in Parliament I hosted a drop-in event for #MindYourHead week, together with the Farm Safety Foundation. This week raises awareness of farmers' mental health, such an important issue given current pressures. I am fully committed to supporting farmers' wellbeing.
According to the Farm Safety Foundation, 95% of UK farmers under the age of 40 rank poor mental health as one of the biggest hidden problems facing the industry today.

This year's theme is positivity, resilience & love to coincide with Valentine’s Day. It's crucial farming communities continue having these conversations.
Next week is #MindYourHead week run by the Farm Safety Foundation. It is deeply concerning that farmers' mental health is at an all time low. I'm proud to support this brilliant initiative, which brings together over 400 farming organisations to raise awareness & drive change around mental health.
