I keep posting these until it gets boring: #Cellbroadcast received yesterday on a #OnePlus6t running #Phosh , #cellbroadcastd and #ModemManager . Just showed up, no fiddling, just using distro packages.
Although the project finished some months ago: Thanks to @NGIZero for funding work on this.

Just for completeness: this was also the first time I received a real world (thus not self generated) message on a OnePlus6 so the #Qualcomm parts of #ModemManager work too 😅

Catching a real world and *unexpected* #Cellbroadcast message revealed some minor bugs in #phosh and its mobile settings but those were easy to spotted and fixes will land for 0.49. Overall #ModemManager, #cbd, and #phosh picked the message up as expected (and the channel setting worked as well):

#Phosh's #MobileSetting app has a new panel to configure #CellBroadcast categories. This requires a recent #ModemManager and mobile-broadband-provider-info database:

@devrtz @NGIZero @snwh #Debian's experimental distribution now has #ModemManager / #libqmi snapshots to test this more easily. These versions also include support for qmi based modems as found in the #OP6, #Pixel3a and similar devices

Switching #libqmi from gtk-doc to #gidocgen makes doc generation almost 5 times faster and it's less manual work when adding new #qmi services or messages. Hopefully we can land this. gitlab.freedesktop.org/mobile-broadband/libqmi/...

As part of or work on #Cellbroadcast we've documented our current test setup: https://codeberg.org/Phosh/gsm-cell-testing using #osmocom for the mobile network parts and #ansible for deploying #ModemManager on the devices, performing the tests and checking the results.
