A golden brown baked meringue on brown baking paper

The same meringue, but completely covered in whipped cream, passionfruit, and blueberries.

My once a decade pavlova, just for the MPIC christmas party. Possibly I would make it more often if I owned beaters and didn't have to whip everything by hand...

I hope the Europeans enjoy a little bit of aussie (not NZ 😉) christmas tradition!

A laser ablation unit, next to an element 2 mass spectrometer. Both are big blocky scientific instruments, with few exciting features, although the laser unit is more.modern looking.

After a fair bit of frustration, our new excimer laser is installed! We have it coupled to an Element 2, and new laser plus sector magnet (rather than quadupole) mass spectrometry is a steep learning curve for me. Nice to spend the afternoon tinkering in the lab though.
