I decided to write out the Awakening for my #MageTheAwakening character.

The question deserved much thought, and more than that there was a sense that any answer Angela gave the creature might get her into trouble. She simply remained silent, and the two danced. The elf continued smiling. Within its exposed chest was a beating heart. Each little thump to the music sent flickers of light dancing along the muscle, like the undulations of light on campfire logs. Angela touched the heart; it felt warm and she could see the world shattering around her with possibilities. She saw herself as a triumphant warrior. As a brilliant scholar. A secretive assassin. On she and her partner danced. She was passed off to another. It was Patch, now the size of a human. The broken mirror world showed Angela a scarred creature that consorted with horrible things, and she knew that it could be her. Another was a charismatic leader. A puppet with strings extending into the sky and a sigil burning above her forehead. An old mentor with children at her feet. Tears welled up in her eyes. There were so many possibilities. So many places that she could go in her life. She changed partners again, this time Wicker. She knew the fairies apart, even though they were so similar. Through the looking glass shards were a hundred lives Angela could touch, would touch, may touch. They went on to become villains or heroes or family or leaders in their own right. Sprawling out into infinity. Angela was overwhelmed, but that wasn’t why she cried. She felt the possibilities laid out before her, felt a thousand versions of herself all dancing through visions in dresses that flowed and kevlar and skyclad and in a thousand different outfits. Each one was a world of its own. Echoing back and forth into infinity. Each reflection shattered, creating a hundred more. Those shards grew, and cracked again. Constellations of lives unlived.
“Why are you doing this to me?” Angela pleaded. She was at a different window now. This one she did remember. In the scene, she was wearing a green tunic and pants. There were bandages on her wrist and a medical bracelet. No shoes, just a pair of grippy socks. Her eyes were red, and she couldn’t see much with her glasses, not that it mattered with the way her uncombed hair fell in front of her face. Maggie sat across from her at a little table that was bolted to the floor. “You’ve been going on about demons, Ange.” She reached out for her wife, but Angela flinched, pulling her hands away. Maggie tilted her head, her furrowed brow and the downturn of her lips felt like a knife. She didn’t demand obedience, but she knew Angela would give it. With more caution than usual, she held out her hands for Maggie, who took them in her own. Her thumb gently stroked the back of them. “They’re…” Angela began, but her words caught. “I know I’m seeing something. I know it’s not in my head.” “It is, honey,” Maggie assured her. As Angela tilted her own head to the side she could see the lens of the world refract. She saw the rusted chains from Maggie’s heart to her own. Standing over the table, in Angela’s periphery, was a red skinned devil dressed like an orderly. She’d only seen him in photos, but the demon looked like her father. He had a strong jaw, and was tall. Or at least, she always thought he’d be tall. He wore glasses, too, and Angela had the same frames. Maggie hadn’t given them to the hospital. The devil ran a finger across the chain, and looked at his fingers, rubbing the flakes of rust. Despite the sharp teeth and pointed horns, it spoke with compassion. “She’s lying, you know.” “There’s nothing there,” Maggie said, reaching up to touch Angela’s cheek and bring her attention back. “They tell me not to trust you…” Tears welled up in her eyes.
No one cares, but I'm going to keep posting #writing.
Flashback to Medea's previous Waking World Dream, where her wife institutionalized and gaslit her, despite knowing that she was going through something real and magical.

Let's see how much attention I can get from #mtaw #mage #magetheawakening.
Trying to workshop a character. All I have so far is that I want her exwife to be a Seer of the Throne. The complicated divorce is what caused her to Awaken. She was essentially always a secondary character to someone else.

Finished a *40* session campaign of Mage the Awakening last night with a great bunch of players. The entire chronicle kept me on my toes about every session, making this the most unpredictable game I've had to memory. #dnd #ttrpg #MtAw #OnyxPath #OPP

We're wrapping this up in the next month or two. #cofd #mtaw has been one of my favorite games to tell people about! Even if it's just shoveling Mage discourse into a primarily DND only chatroom or w/e.

Mage the Awakening #ttrpg tonight! We'll settle a problem with the... DUEL ARCANE!!!
But the players may have something more to worry about than a silly duel.

Another session of #MtAw #ttrpg last night. Mage/CofD is great, but I feel like it's only been the last few sessions where the Aspiration/Obsessions bit have consistently, across all players, kicked off well.
Love me XP triggers, but they can be hard to GM when they're unique to every player. 1/2
