We found these mud pots just past Fairy Falls, and somehow… no one else did. A rare moment of actual solitude in the park, which made the bubbling, burping earth feel like our own personal show.

A favorite #hike of mine in #YellowstoneNationalPark is the #Pitchstone Trail which takes you around this awesome #thermal area that includes #PhantomFumarole. It’s a group of roiling #mudpots, muddy #HotSprings, fumaroles and the very loud “Phantom” herself. One of my personal zen spots.

The return hike from Hellroaring Creek to the trailhead was much tougher than I expected. I was dragging… The picture shows my daughter hanging on to my backpack as I helped drag her back to the trailhead.
#YellowstoneNP has got to be my favorite National Park. So much to do and see: #Fumaroles, #Geysers, #mudpots, #hotsprings, #wildlife, #hiking, #birding, #fishing. If you’ve never been, add it to your list. Been 2x in the summer. I really want to #snowmobile in #YELL in the winter.
