Screenshot of a newsletter. Text reads: Stop thinking about creating keyword rich content. Stop writing blog posts that reformat reports and press releases. And, in the name of all that is still good and joyful in the world, stop sending “newsletters” that are simply monthly recaps of links to stuff you posted last month. Think about what your audience needs, uses, wants. Have a point of view. Bring stories, data, experiences and answers to their questions. Engage in conversation, learning, listening and not simply talking or press release-ing.

Pro tip: Affirmations make great passphrases.
Ask yourself: what's a short idea or principle I want to repeat to myself every day?
Take that, put it in title case, add some special characters, and boom, you've got a passphrase

Long shot, but I'll put it out there: Does anyone know of a way to view all your installed fonts, including Adobe fonts, grouped by type? (e.g. sans serif, handwriting, decorative, geometric) This would be on a PC.
Or have a hack for keeping track of fonts?

Screenshot of a graphic. Title reads: Graphic A: FY2024 Discretionary Funding (Enacted), By Appropriations Bill. Below that is a pie chart. The largest wedge of the pie is labeled Defense 49.5%. The other wedges are significantly smaller. The next largest wedge is Labor-HHS-Edu (13.5%). At bottom text reads: Source: Appropriations Committee Release 2024 Government Funding Legislation (House Appropriations Committee - Democrats)
Hey communicators - Need a fresh idea for Pi Day?
(That's Friday 3/14)
It's a great day for pie charts!
There are a zillion charts out there, but if you have your own data, pie charts are super easy to make in Excel (with your brand colors!)

At this point, when I see the X logo on a progressive organization's website, it's a bit of a red flag.
Either they don't see the problem with being active on X, or they do, but they don't have the comms staffing/infrastructure to move their presence to Bluesky and to update their website

Hey friends and communicators: I got a notice that Facebook is updated its Terms. Has anyone read the new terms closely for any implications for digital safety, privacy, and impacts on the nonprofit/progressive community?

Today, in forensic tab discovery, I found this tab among hundreds of others on my computer, but have no idea why I have it:
The URL tags reveal that it came from Beth Becker's political-social grab-bag email in June of 2023 (2023!)
