Running a stable build so far. Small Adjustments on the Damage System. Also small changes for some Textures and balancing. All comes together.
Only issue is, with another level the Size of the Game is already by over 7.5 GB 😭

Very close to release of the second level. Already one working shipping Build. Found some issue during QA. So time for the final Sprint.

Needing over a year to release a level of #Odium started to make me think of reducing my work hours of my day job and focusing more on #GameDev. Getting less money to work on a hobby where I made 5$ in over 400 hours…

Haven’t checked my d3f4c3r.itch.io page in a while (wasn’t really helpful for my Mental health). Did it yesterday and was shocked of the spike of download of both Quatsch Quartett and #Odium
Don’t know why.

I love #UnrealEngine. Again spend couple of hours try to package the new #Odium release.
I had “registered” some Metasounds for faster Load times during development… it prevented the build to work…

got the quatsch quartett back together, those little rascals!
the game felt really trippy somehow: the combination of over-the-top AAA graphics and a somewhat jenky/unpolished gameplay and the goofy narrative created a weird feeling of disconnect that was somehow... strangely engaging? using graphical assets of a quality that outshines your coding abilities usually spells catastrophy, but you kind of make it work. it was probably thanks to kacki that little turd.

Also I partook in my first GameJam. And was overwhelmed with the positive feedback. With the best one attached.

I mean this year #Anno117 and #Avowed were released. Small wonder I found any time to develop

For the first time in nearly 3 months I opened #UnrealEngine editor to work on #Odium, time for QA and finalising the second level. Took only a couple of minutes to find a broken animation… of course.
The experience paid off and it wasn’t as hard to fix as I initially thought.

For those wondering… if there are any …
The decision was made another Anno game was started. Every free time is now filled with planning and building.

So very likely no #Odium update until November. Very confident the hiatus will improve the quality of the development.

New week and now the question arises: starting another #Anno1800 round before the sequel or going full on #Gamedev and work on #Odium?
Little more then a month left until i need to be off for while.

When I created the first cutscene for #Odium I only moved a camera, try to mimic head movement and avoid looking at angles where a body should be. Now working on the second one I animate a #Metahuman Due to First person still have a lot of possibilities to cut corners.

Main routes are established for the second level of #Odium. Even though there is a lot of stuff missing it is time to play test. And I hate it. Testing my own games is just a date with imposter syndrome and regretting what I did in the past.

Still working hard on the second Level. #ADHD doesn't help a lot. Find a lot of rabbit holes to lose track.
2.5 out of 4 routes are now done. Takes waaaaay longer then anticipated.

Finally got some drive back to work on #Odium. Last couple of weeks wasn't really as planned, but the Forest starts to become the hellish environment it is meant to be. #ADHD be like work on everything a little bit. At least one ending riddle is finished.

Did finally some writing for #Odium today. Even though I love writing, today it was especially hard. Not only did it focus the game on #depression and #SelfHarm, but writing for a game is very different to writing short stories. Having different paths makes it way harder.
