We had an amazing afternoon hiking a gentle 9% grade path around Devil's Slide just below Pacifica. Spectacular nature everywhere you looked, and breathtaking views, reminding us of why we live here in Northern California. This used to be any part of Highway One that was continually shut down because of landslides. So now that they have the tunnel going through the mountain side, they've turned it into a lovely walking/cycling nature path. Some video below in comments.

people out having fun on the beach. you can see the way we are going here. if you notice a ledge on the cliff, that's where a road formerly went to Shelter Cove, which originally was the railway. it's been partially washed out for a few decades
lots of dogs were having a great day at the beach
a boat ramp which temporarily ends in the sand instead of the water
Shelter cove is an isolated neighborhood more or less part of #Pacifica, CA. The only access is via wooden stairs down a cliff (there is no road at all, public or private), with a gate and a "no trespassing" sign which might or might not be legal. When the tide […]
