Holgate mill was built in 1769-70 and had four pairs of grinding stones. Two were Peak stones, made of millstone grit from the Peak District of Derbyshire, and two of French burr stones. The Peak stones were sued for courser meal, usually used for animal feed, while the finer French stones were used for flour. The restored mill uses only one set of French stones to make flour which is sold to the public. The drawing shows a pair of stones encased in wooden vats with the stone spindles passing through them, though the one in the foreground has been cut away. Grain passed from storage bins on the floor above into hoppers carried on a frame called a horse. From here it passed to the shoe which dribbled grain onto the stones via a hole in the centre of the upper, runner, stone. The dribbling action was achieved by a thickening of the stone spindle known as a damsel. An alarm bell, activated by string, alerted the miller to any problem with the supply of grain.
Hoppers, horses and vats on the stone floor of Holgate Windmill, York,built in 1769-70. A whole new world of terminology to describe the grinding stones of a windmill!

Oh heckers yeah we got the Birdthulu- your eldritch spark of chaos coming in playing a double neck guitar with 2 tentacles as tails playing the lower half and her talon'd hands playing the upper. The guitar is black, with 2 round holes in the center with energy motiffs drawn and an electric current running between them. One hand is in the air in a rock sign. In the background out of the flames is the eldritch beast Patron, with many eyes and a flaming beak, with a crown of tentacles. Its wings are aflame like a stage device near the ankles of the anthropomorphic bird. The anthropomorphic bird is wearing an outfit that consists of an off shoulder cape, tight body suit with a liquid-knot pattern, and arm length gloves. The anthro-bird has many eyes and hair is tentacles aflame. They're playing a power cord, eyes wild, beak open, 2 tongues visible.
