This phalera is made of a round shaped cream coloured chalcedony and carved into an adorable cherubs chubby face. In Roman times, a phalera referred to a sculpted, disk-shaped metal plate, often worn on a soldier's chest harness, as a military medal or trophy awarded for distinguished conduct. Chalcedony is known for its waxy luster and various colors, often appearing translucent or semi-translucent.
