Today has been a full trip down memory lane. Grateful + proud to have been part of these NASA-JPL teams.
I’ll add to @sciencesocks.bsky.social @stim3on.bsky.social et al. posts. Here’s my real-time (albeit world-in-quarantine) M2020 landing day & “7 Minutes of Terror” from 2021:

HAPPY 5-(🌎)YR LANDIVERSARY to our Perseverance Rover 🍰
As a Jezero mapper, seeing the *image* from SkyCrane of M2020 being lowered to the crater surface, will forever be a highlight of my career.
CONGRATS to the entire M2020 Team (extra special shoutout to the EDL engineers!) 🧪🔭 #PlanetarySci
View of Crew-12’s launch vehicle and pad from the newly renovated Gantry at LC-39 (launch viewing area). A large “39” is embossed on the green astroturf in front of the viewing bleachers. Palm trees and a large body of water frame the distant Crew-12 launch pad. 📍Kennedy Space Center, Florida
We also got to see #Crew-12 a few days prior to their recent launch (and when they flew over the pad… didn’t get pics though 🛩️). Squint hard!

Recently had the opportunity to reunite with some fellow NASA ASCAN Interviewees for an up-close tour of KSC + SLS/ Orion on Launch Pad 39B #ArtemisII
Putting together some thoughts, but here’s a sneak peek.

NASA #ArtemisII schedule change:
Due to weather, the wet dress was shifted to Feb 2. That shifts the earliest launch window to Sunday, Feb 8.

The Hayabusa 2 spacecraft bus will encounter #asteroid Torifune on
5 July 2026.
"The time of the flyby has not yet been determined," but I figure 19 chances out of 24 that it will still be 4 July in *some* part of the US at the moment of closest approach. During our 250th birthday.

Last night I was finally able to image comet C/2025 K1. It took 3 mins exposure to get decent signal-to-noise (Bortle 8 skies, quarter moon, freezing temps) from my driveway. Nothing spectacular but still makes me smile. #astronomy #planetarysci

A long stretched wispy cloud, almost shaped like a feather glows in the sky of Mars at dusk. The cloud shines in different colors, from blue near the horizon, to a yellowish-green on the other side.
Two years ago, NASA's Curiosity Mars rover captured this feathery iridescent cloud after sunset. The color is created by diffraction effects when sunlight is scattered by small CO2 particles in the cloud. #planetarysci
