The news is everywhere: 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗢𝗦 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺. The goal? Simplify the stack. One OS to rule phones, tablets, laptops. Sounds efficient. Looks unified. This isn’t Android adopting the web — it’s ChromeOS surrendering its passport. It’s not that I don’t see the potential. I do. Unified UX, Gemini AI, desktop Android — it’s a technophile’s dream. As a biased lover of the open web, I worry. Will we still get fast, clean, secure web access as a first-class citizen? Or will the future of computing be optimized for apps, ads, and... friction? 💡 Here’s a radical idea: 𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙨𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙗𝙮 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙗𝙮 𝙘𝙤𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜.
