Front side: a rather bland textured partial cylinder, which will be worked on and modified later.

Underside of the cylinder, with five braces to keep the form from spreading or warping, and also to run a wire through for hanging later. Top and bottom edges are also thickened for a heftier look.

The Secret Architecture of Things: I started a new half pipe sculpture this week. I brace my forms to keep them as stiff as possible so the result looks like a piece of pitted, rusted machinery. At first, the underside often looks more interesting than the blank canvas I've made.
