So I finish unpacking his instrument, nod back at him silently and decide to go back to my seat across Holloway. But before I can do that, I feel Anissa’s arm wrap around mine. I smile at her. “Peyton!” I call put, he turns around, sees us and rolls his eyes. “Seriously? Now?” He asks. “Yeap. Now.” Anissa responds, leaving no room for argument. Peyton sighs but walks right next to me and wraps his arm around mine too. So all three are chained to each other with our limbs. And then, in perfect synchrony, we all lift our respective left legs and kick them to the side, like a trio of showgirls. I don't remember how we came up with this sort of… secret salute. But we haven't stopped since. We pull away from each other a moment later. And I look at Peyton, rolling his eyes with fondness, his spirits seemingly lifted and then at Anissa, who smiles softly, silently offering her support. We must look mental to bystanders, but I don't think I could care less at the moment. I return to Holloway, who has finished his coffee already. He looks at me and then looks around the room, to Anissa preparing some more pastries and to Peyton finishing fixing up the sound equipment. Then, he looks back at me. “You know, you three are a funny crew.” He states.
