Our condo complex looks so dramatic! #photography #red25 #redfilter #blackandwhite #condo #home
Using the #red25 #filter really dramatizes the pics. I love it. These are from around my condo building. #blackandwhite #abstract #fineartphotography #photography #dramatic
Some #monochrome captures from this morning using the #red25 #filter. It was a lovely, #snowy morning! #photography #snow #blackandwhite
I'm definitely going to be doing dedicated monochrome photowalks with the red 25 filter on. These are pics of things we practice on all of the time, and these are some of my favorite captures of them. #photography #monochrome #red25 #Nikon #Z6III #stilllife #practice #simplicity
Thanks for sharing, Prof. Coe! what inspired the key focus of your #rED25 talk?

Willingham's quip of stories being cognitively privileged doesn't apply to case studies.
In my #rED25 The Professional Mind slot, I demonstrated how presenters of case studies often kill off its story from the very start.
So easy to do — "I'll just set the context".
While children’s & #disabilityrights are already under threat in the UK, I find it super concerning that @beckyfrancis.bsky.social, leader of the Curriculum & Assessment review, thinks that this #rED25 presentation (learners are all cognitively similar!) is “important”.

Delighted to have co-authored a blog on our experience of the ResearchEd National Conference #rED25 with two of my fellow National Education Leads, Ashleigh Morris and Sarah Hutson-Dean - a great day for all!

Tom Bennett is in the news again talking about strict behaviour policies and many of these are linked to tech to monitor etc.
So here again is Ian’s work that explains how much of these policies are ableist and racist or discriminatory. Tom’s #rED25 lacked focus on the marginalised as usual
I had a great time at #rED25 yesterday.

Three men stood on stage in front of a slide reading Instructional Illusions Paul Kirschner, Carl Hendrick, Jim Heal
My final one was @paulkirschner.bsky.social @carlhendrick.substack.com & Jim Heal on 'Instructional Illusions'. The eg of us all having the same digestive system but not all eating in the same way to make the point we all have the same cognitive architecture joined nicely with my own session #rED25
#rEd25 should not allow talks from edtech or gen ai vendors. There is no place for Gen ai tools in schools, they aren’t safe, and edtech in general is unregulated and used to share data on children with adtech. That’s how edtech makes money. Teachers need to be told that at an event.
Panel of four people at the front of a classroom filled with adults. The screen behind them asks the question: 1. Removing phones - what else happens? Does behaviour improve elsewhere?
I went to the @teachertapp.bsky.social panel discussion which looked at mobile phone use in schools and uniforms. It's really interesting to have the back up of panel data to add insight into some of the points raised, and it was a great to have so many voices join in from different sectors. #rED25
Woman standing behind lecturn next to presentation which reads Can AI beat teachers at formative assessment?
I really enjoyed @profbeckyallen.bsky.social's session on AI and formative assessment. This felt like a proper, old school researchED session. Taking an idea, using your own kids todo an experiment, end up with lots more questions to answer. Good stuff. #rED25
Presentation slide titled There's no one 'SEND' Identify a pupil - past, present, future Consider the barriers they are facing that may impact on them in the classroom: Personal Home School Community A diagram of concentric circles with each bullet point is to the right.
It was me in session 2. I was talking about how to take all the 'mainstream secondary' research and translate it into a SEND context. I invited everyone to think of a child to have in mind through their day and try to relate their own learning to that context #rED25
Woman talking with microphone in sports hall full of people on chairs. She is stood between researchED roller banners and in front of a projected PowerPoint.
There's lots aligning with what we're pushing in our SEMH setting - particularly keen on the level 2 pathways in post 16, and the financial literacy theme is one to watch (should give a shout out to the @martinlewis.moneysavingexpert.com financial ed textbook, already a great resource). #rED25
OK! Mildly awake and reflecting on #rED25...
First up, @beckyfrancis.bsky.social on the curriculum and assessment review. It's just all so refreshingly sensible and balanced. Looking forward to seeing the full report (and what happens with it) #EvolutionNotRevolution
What a fantastic day at researchED National in London! Huge thanks to Tom, Helene, and the whole researchED community. Grateful to learn from so many great minds and the opportunity to share about our #KTH K-ULF model for practitioner-based research in #STEMed #rED25
Wonderful day at #rED25 seeing interesting things and interesting people. Ready for my nap now...
According to the paper this #rED25 talk was based on, how CYP ‘pay attention, process information & build understanding’ is ‘remarkably consistent.’
@autisticrealms.bsky.social & @tanyaadkin.bsky.social explain here why this is not the case and why it matters:

Another brilliant day at #rED25
Lots to think about as always, and wonderful to reconnect with some lovely people.
A massive thank you to those who came to see @mikehobbiss.bsky.social and I talk
A great day at ResearchEd #REd25. Superb sessions @profcoe.bsky.social @joejt.bsky.social @profbeckyallen.bsky.social @johntomsett.bsky.social. Fun presenting with @paulclinepsy.bsky.social as ever. New contacts made, friendships rekindled, and ambitious schemes hatched. Enriching and invigorating
It made me think about how much effort I put into trying to ensure the content is accessible to all but am I ensuring they are still thinking hard? Am I too quick to jump in with verbal cues? It’s these small earworms that will have immediate impact in my classroom after #rED25
Double page spread of the book This much I know about truly great secondary teachers
On the train home reading the book I won in @johntomsett.bsky.social ‘s talk #rED25 I think a lot of us forget that teaching with enthusiasm is so key to students’ learning! It’s not a lesson feedback I’d naturally give! (Confess I skipped straight to the science teacher but I will go back)
Great day at #rED25 - sessions from @beckyfrancis.bsky.social, @daisychristo.bsky.social, @chrisfountain.bsky.social and @dougobrien.bsky.social. It is always a delight seeing educators sharing their knowledge (on a Saturday no less) - brings such energy to the start of term.
Lots of great takeaways from #rED25 @pepsmccrea.bsky.social and Jen Baker on Inclusive teaching.
Does the label accurately describe that child’s actual need in your classroom?
