🚀 #rJavaEnv #rstats (helper for 100+ Java-dependent packages ) is about to get its biggest update yet. Just in time for ~10k downloads, Java 25 release, and its CRAN bday!

I am flattered that people record video tutorials on how to use my #rstats #rJavaEnv package (thanks @samoora.bsky.social !). There will soon be an update that will ensure long term sustainability of the package even if new Java versions come out and I don't update the package (but I will!)

Earlier this week, I had a great time as an #rstats package maintainer and mentor at the @ropensci.org mini-hackathon for first time contributors. Enrique Mondragon Estrada made a pull request to add a new feature to #rJavaEnv for reproducible Java environment setup for Java-dependent R packages.
