The PKK and its affiliates are collecting extortion at so-called customs points established in areas near the Turkish border. At the customs point on the Iranian border, a 45-person armed militant group known as the Martyrs' Battalion collects extortion from smugglers. HPG-SEALED TAX The report stated that smugglers who are subject to taxation are given so-called documents bearing the HPG seal, the armed wing of the PKK.
