The unions simply MUST disassociate themselves from #Labour. They're no longer on the side of the workers & #Rayner, once a darling of the #left, clearly has been bought.

The biggest positive for #Starmer right now is that his current successor is the Liz Truss of the #Labour party in the form of #Rayner. And if that happens, we're royally stuffed just like we were with Truss.

If #Rayner gets in, first move should be to clean up the old boys club of Parliament. Change the rules to get them to speak plain English, not ask this “Mr. Speaker,” modernise every part of politics, close down the bars. Do all the tricks that #Farage would pretend to do. Set up citizen assemblies.
The Westminster media bubble seems to agree that:
1/ #Starmer recognises that he has last control, and may quit on Monday.
2/ Angela Rayner's pals are briefing that she is ready for a heave.
3/ Starmer is not just crap at politics, but barely interested in politics.

Before 2018 local elections I had only ever voted @UKLabour, including #Corbyn for leader.
Since then though, I voted:

1/ Banning social media for under 16s would be the most eye catching policy of this technocratic #Labour government. Yes they have done lots of really good small things, but no ability to communicate any of them. Put #Rayner and #Streeting at the top and hold press conferences twice a week.

If #Rayner doesn’t want the job they should just swap the positions and switch to Steeting/Rayner and maybe give Rayner 6 months before returning to being Deputy as Lammy is doing a good job and will support the policy changes needed such as joining the #EU customs union and #trans rights.

#Rayner should get a coronation with Streeting as Deputy PM. They should join forces and have Pat Mcfadden at the heart of the transition making very few changes to ensure things go on track. Mahmood should keep her job and continue as before. Lou Haigh and Stella Creasy should join cabinet.
Ed Milliband is doing a fantastic job as energy secretary. Today he has reformed the queuing process for energy production, to prioritise readiness and get the right projects in the right order.
I think he would make a good prime minister but I don’t think it’s what #Labour needs. I support #Rayner
