Growing corn taken during early July 2025, looking lush and green.

Field of yellow/orange flowers (maybe marigolds?) with cloud shading the foreground so the middle distance is way brighter.

Crops (I have no idea what) laid out in neat lines giving vanishing point effect.

Moorhen sat on nest in the reeds beside a canal with recently(ish) hatched chicks (2 visible)

Moorhen with 5 small chicks following paddling along the canal amongst the waterlillypads

Three larger moorhen chicks swimming together with waterlillypads. They are following and calling loudly to their parent who is just out of shot.

Three moorhen chicks following their mother or father through the waterlillies. The parent was teaching them what to eat and was breaking bits off the small yellow flowers and feeding them to the chicks.

The moorhens had a nest across the canal from us this year and managed to raise several chicks. Shot over about 5-6 weeks using an EF 100-400mm + 1.4x TC on #RDPIII #provia #slidefilm #believeinfilm #wildlife #birds
