#Merian left her husband (so badass at the time) and went on to join a #religioussect with her mom and two daughters. When the sect fell, Merian wanted to find more bugs to learn about. She eventually went to #Suriname which led to her publishing #TheMetamorphosisoftheInsectsofSuriname in 1705.
