Open from 1975-1985, the Fireside Roll-Arena in Hoffman Estates, IL was at one time listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s largest indoor roller rink.

The Savoy at 4733 S. Parkway (now known as Martin Luther King Jr. Drive) was built as a jazz ballroom in 1927, but by 1938 it had also become the go-to rink for African-American skaters.

In the late 1930s, the Arcadia Ballroom, 4444 N. Broadway, became the Arcadia Roller Rink. It suffered a fire in 1946, but was rebuilt. In 1959, the Arcadia burned down once again and was later demolished.
